What client services does Awaaz provide?
We provide services to domestic violence survivors, including a 24-hour Helpline and confidential referrals (legal, medical, shelter, counseling, etc.)
In what languages does Awaaz provide services?
Our advocates currently speak English, Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Bengali, Odia, and Assamese. If needed, interpreters for Punjabi, Marathi, Malayalam, Kashmiri, and Spanish can be arranged after the initial contact.
How does Awaaz maintain confidentiality?
Protecting client privacy is a top priority at Awaaz. We do not share any information without the client's written consent. Only your advocate will have access to your personal information.
Do you provide services for non-South Asians?
Awaaz supports all survivors of domestic violence who reach out to us through our Helpline.
Does Awaaz help children facing abuse?
We do not directly support children, but we can refer them to other organizations with which we work.
Does Awaaz provide psychological counseling?
Yes, we provide referral counseling services.
